Common questions

Did Slimroll just delete my photos?
No. Slimroll only marks items for deletion. The actual removal goes through iOS's standard confirmation sheet, and the items move to Apple Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted, where they remain recoverable for 30 days.

I see "0 GB recoverable" — what's wrong?
On a small or already-clean library that's actually correct. Try pulling down on the home screen to rescan. If you granted "Limited" Photos access, Slimroll only sees the photos you selected — switch to "Full Access" in iOS Settings → Privacy → Photos to scan everything.

Why does Slimroll need Photos write access?
Apple's PhotoKit requires read & write to remove items, even though we never modify your photos in any other way.

The Apple Tracking prompt — does Slimroll track me?
No. Slimroll never calls the App Tracking Transparency framework. Apple requires the prompt because the RevenueCat SDK transitively references it. Decline or accept — Slimroll behaves identically.

How do I cancel my subscription?
Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Slimroll Pro. Apple handles billing.

I bought Lifetime on another iPhone — how do I restore?
In Slimroll, open Settings → Restore Purchases. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to buy.

Slimroll missed an obvious duplicate.
Slimroll only matches exact duplicates by SHA-256, so two photos that look identical but have different bytes (e.g. different compression) won't match the "Exact duplicates" group — try the "Similar photos" group instead. With Pro you can loosen the similarity threshold in Settings → Detection.

Can I get my data exported?
There's no server data to export. Everything Slimroll knows about your library is local and reproducible by re-scanning.
