How do I write today's entry?
Open the Today tab, type one line (or leave it blank), pick a mood emoji, and tap save. You can also tap the Lock Screen widget to leave a one-liner without opening the app.
My entries from iPhone aren't showing up on iPad (or vice versa).
Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and that iCloud Drive is enabled for Onnal in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Onnal. The first sync after install can take up to a minute.
The weekly recap says "Not much logged this week."
The on-device summary needs at least two entries to generate a real paragraph. With zero or one entry it returns a gentle placeholder instead. Add another line during the week and try again.
The weekly recap never generates — I'm on an older iPhone.
Apple's on-device Foundation Models require iOS 26 on a supported device. On older devices, Onnal falls back to a static placeholder rather than uploading your text to any AI provider. (We chose this over a cloud LLM on purpose.)
How do I change the daily reminder time?
Settings → Notifications → Daily reminder. Turn it off entirely with the toggle in the same section.
How do I export my entries?
Settings → Data → Export as JSON. You'll get a share sheet to save the file to Files, Mail, or anywhere else.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app to remove the on-device copy. To remove the iCloud copy too, go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Onnal → Delete Data.
