A paused app is still blocked after my session

Sessions end on their own. If an app still shows the moss screen:

  1. Tap Session ended — Unlock on that screen. It lifts the block right away.
  2. Or tap the "Session complete" notification, or open Mosslock. Opening the app tidies up any session whose time is over.
  3. As a last resort, you can always remove every block yourself: open the Settings app › Screen Time, find Mosslock among the apps using Screen Time and turn off its access. Deleting Mosslock also removes every block it set.

If Mosslock itself shows the moss screen (for example because you paused the whole Productivity category), tap Open Mosslock. Mosslock is never meant to be paused, and from then on it is left out of every block.

If this happens, please email us with your iOS version so we can look into it.

Setting up

Mosslock needs Screen Time permission, which iOS asks you to confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Then choose the apps or categories to pause. You can change both any time in Mosslock's Settings.

Stopping a session early

In Mosslock, tap Stop session and hold the button for 10 seconds. The time you studied is still recorded, but that patch of moss withers. With strict mode (Pro) the stop button is hidden until the session ends; your apps still open again when the time is up.

Study hours (Pro)

Study hours pause your chosen apps on set days and times, even when Mosslock is closed. Each block must be at least 15 minutes. Blocks that cross midnight end the next morning.

Widget

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit › Add Widget and search for Mosslock. The widget shows today's study time, or the time left in a running session.

Restoring purchases

Open Settings in Mosslock and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.

Canceling a subscription

Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions, or Manage subscription in Mosslock's Settings.

Erasing data

Settings › Erase all data removes your records, garden, subjects and study hours, ends any session and lifts every block. Purchases are not affected.
