Privacy Policy

Reelo is a video editor that runs on your device. There is no account to create and no sign-in. We designed Reelo to keep your videos and projects on your device, not on our servers.

What we collect

• Subscription state: managed by RevenueCat and Apple StoreKit. We receive your entitlement status (Free or Reelo Pro) tied to a RevenueCat anonymous identifier. We do not receive or store your name, email, or any payment/credit card details.

That is the only data Reelo collects. Reelo has no user accounts, so we hold no profile, email, or login for you.

Your media and projects stay on your device

• Source media: when you import clips, Reelo references the items in your Photos library through a security-scoped bookmark. Your videos and photos are not copied to or uploaded to our servers; they remain in your library.
• Projects: your timelines, edits, and text are saved locally on your device (and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private iCloud — which we cannot access).
• Exports: rendered videos are saved where you choose — your Photos library, Files, or the share sheet. They are never sent to us.

What we don't collect

• We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV for ads).
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
• We do not embed analytics SDKs or third-party ad networks.
• We do not upload, view, or store the videos or photos you edit.
• We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers — ever.

Photo library access

Reelo requests permission to your photo library for two reasons only: to import source clips into a project, and to save your exported video back to Photos. Access is used solely for these actions and the media never leaves your device through Reelo.

Macro marketplace

Reelo offers a marketplace of curated, read-only automation macros (declarative JSON). Browsing or installing a macro does not require an account and does not send your projects, media, or any personal data anywhere. Macros run entirely on your device against your local timeline.

Third-party services we use

• RevenueCat — manages your subscription entitlement. Receives an anonymous user ID and subscription state. No project, media, or personal data is shared with RevenueCat.
• Apple — Apple StoreKit processes subscription purchases; Apple iCloud stores your projects if you enable it. We do not receive your payment details.

Data retention and deletion

Because Reelo stores your projects and media on your device, you are in control. Delete a project inside the app, or delete the app, to remove your local data. There is no server-side account or profile for us to delete. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are governed by their respective policies.

Children

Reelo is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
