This Privacy Policy explains how MoodBite collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 You provide

• Account data: email or Apple ID identifier
• Meal logs: text, optional food photo, meal type
• Mood check-ins: 1–5 score and mood tags (e.g., tired, focused, anxious)
• Free-text notes

1.2 Automatically collected

• Subscription state via RevenueCat (hashed Apple ID, entitlement, product ID)
• Crash reports (Apple-level, opt-in)

1.3 Not collected

• Precise location, contacts, IDFA, microphone, browsing history

2. How We Use Information

• Provide logging, insights, and timeline features
• Generate personalized food-mood pattern insights
• Process subscription purchases
• Improve app quality via anonymized aggregate metrics

3. AI and Automated Analysis

To generate pattern insights, the app sends meal context (food text, parsed mood tags, pre-processed pattern counts) to Anthropic's Claude API. Optional meal photos are sent only for the first daily Vision analysis per user. No personal identifiers (email, user ID) are shared with Anthropic.

4. Third-Party Services

We do not sell your data.

5. Storage and Security

• TLS in transit, encryption at rest on Supabase
• Row-level security: each user can access only their own records
• Photos are resized to 1024px before upload

6. Data Retention

Active account data is retained while your account is active. Upon deletion, data is removed within 30 days, except records required by law.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your data. Email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. International Transfers

Data may be processed in the United States via Supabase, RevenueCat, and Anthropic.

10. Cookies and Tracking

No cookies. No advertising trackers. No IDFA collection.

11. Changes

Material changes announced via in-app notice or email at least 7 days before taking effect.
