Itda is a Korean word-chain game (끝말잇기). Each word must start with the last syllable of the previous word. You play against an adaptive AI, and every word shows its romanization, meaning, and pronunciation so you learn as you go. Everything runs on-device — no account needed.

- Continue the chain — play a word that starts with the highlighted syllable.
- Tiles or typing — tap one of the multiple-choice tiles, or switch to Type mode and enter Hangul (with autocomplete).
- Speak Mode — optionally turn on Speak Mode to say the word aloud; it is recognized on-device.
- Beat the AI — if the AI can't continue, you win. Watch out for dead-end (한방단어) words on higher difficulty.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know Korean to play?
No. Beginners can play with multiple-choice tiles and learn words by meaning and pronunciation. As you improve, switch to typing Hangul directly.
What is 두음법칙 (initial-sound rule)?
It's a standard Korean rule where certain word-initial sounds change (for example ㄹ/ㄴ shifting). Itda honors it when matching syllables; you can toggle it in Settings.
How does Speak Mode work?
When enabled, you can say a Korean word instead of typing. Speech is recognized on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition — audio is not uploaded. If recognition fails or you decline microphone access, you can always type or tap instead.
How do I restore my subscription?
Open Settings inside Itda and tap "Restore purchases." Make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID you used to purchase Itda Pro.
How do I cancel or manage Itda Pro?
Go to iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Itda, or open the App Store → tap your account → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. After cancellation you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
What does Itda Pro include?
The free tier includes unlimited core play on Rookie and Casual difficulty. Itda Pro unlocks the K-pop theme word pack, Speak Mode (say words aloud to play), and the harder Pro and Boss difficulty modes. Itda Pro is a Monthly plan ($4.99/month) or an Annual plan ($34.99/year, 7-day free trial). Prices may vary by region.
Where do the words come from?
Word data is derived in part from 우리말샘 (opendict.korean.go.kr), licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0 KR, plus our own curated theme packs.
Will my data sync or leave my device?
No. Your Wordbook, stats, and settings are stored locally. There is no account and no cloud sync. Deleting the app removes all data. See our Privacy Policy.
