ShotAction

ShotAction reads the dates out of the screenshots you keep — a booking confirmation, a coupon, a gift voucher — and reminds you before the deadline you confirmed. Those screenshots are pictures of your reservations and your purchases, so this policy is specific about where they go: nowhere.

Short version

• There is no account, no sign-up, and no email address.
• Text recognition runs on your iPhone. Screenshots and recognised text are never sent to a server or to an AI service.
• Screenshots and items are stored in the app's own storage on this device.
• Notification permission is optional. Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by iOS.
• Apple processes the payment. RevenueCat sees only an anonymous identifier and the purchase record.

No account, no identity

ShotAction has nothing to sign in to. We do not ask for a name, an email address, a phone number, or a social login, and we do not create an identifier that follows you across apps or devices. We have no means of knowing who you are, which also means we cannot look up “your data” on request — there is no record of you on our side to look up.

What ShotAction reads, and only what you hand it

ShotAction works on the images you give it, one at a time, in one of two ways:

• You share a screenshot to ShotAction from the iOS share sheet.
• You choose a screenshot in the app through the system photo picker.

Both paths hand a single image to the app. ShotAction does not ask for access to your photo library, and it cannot browse, scan or read any picture you did not select. It does not use the camera, the microphone, location, contacts, or the calendar.

Where the recognition happens

The text in a screenshot is read by the text recognition built into iOS, running on your iPhone. From that text ShotAction proposes date candidates and a label for each one — a cancellation deadline, an expiry, a date of use. Neither the screenshot nor the recognised text is sent to us, to a server, or to any AI service. The app performs this work with the device in airplane mode.

A recognised date is a candidate, not a decision. Nothing becomes a deadline or a reminder until you confirm it, and you can correct or type any date yourself.

What is stored, and where

Saved items — the title, the kind, your notes, the deadlines you confirmed and their reminder times — and the original screenshot are written to the app's own container on this device, with file protection enabled. There is no iCloud sync and no server copy.

When you share a screenshot from another app, it is placed in a shared inbox belonging to ShotAction and its share extension. ShotAction removes that file from the inbox once it has taken it in.

Your device backups may include app data, according to the backup settings you have chosen with Apple. That is your backup, held under your Apple Account, not ours.

Notifications

Notification permission is optional and is asked for only when you set a reminder. If you decline, everything else in the app keeps working; you simply get no reminders. You can change the permission at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → ShotAction.

Reminders are local notifications scheduled by iOS on the device. A reminder carries the item's title, the label of the deadline and the deadline time, so that text can appear on your lock screen. Nothing about a reminder is sent off the device.

The subscription

ShotAction is free for up to three active items. ShotAction Pro removes that limit and is an auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store. We never see or handle your payment details; Apple processes the payment.

To know whether this Apple Account has an active subscription, we use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, as our processor. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated app user identifier for the install and the App Store purchase record for this app — which product was bought, when, whether it renewed, and whether it is a sandbox or production purchase. It receives no screenshot, no recognised text, and no item of any kind. We use it only to unlock what you paid for.

No advertising, no analytics, no tracking

ShotAction contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no tracking of any kind. It does not ask for permission to track, because there is nothing it would track. We do not sell, rent or share your screenshots or anything read from them.

Deleting your data

Deleting an item in the app removes the item and its stored screenshot from the device, and cancels any reminder that belonged to it. Deleting the app removes its container — every item, every screenshot and every pending reminder — from the device.

Because we hold no copy, deletion is final: we cannot recover anything for you. Purchase records held by Apple and by RevenueCat are separate from this and are governed by their own terms.

Children

ShotAction is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described in the app's release notes.
