Onyx

What we collect

• No account, no sign-in. Onyx has no login and does not collect your name or email address.
• Count history: your sessions and counts are stored only on your device, in a local database (Room/SQLite). This history never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
• Purchase state: the one-time unlock (amber and ebony materials, CSV export) is processed by Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat, which receives only an anonymous device identifier and your entitlement status. We do not receive or store your name, email, or payment method.

Permissions

Onyx requests no dangerous (runtime) permissions. Our own manifest declares only INTERNET and VIBRATE. The RevenueCat and Google Play Billing libraries add ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, com.android.vending.BILLING and a private receiver permission (com.ootssu.onyx.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION) to the merged manifest that ships in the app; Onyx does not request or use any of them directly. Onyx does not use an advertising ID (AD_ID) and does not integrate any advertising network.

Automatic device backup

Onyx sets allowBackup="true". This means your on-device count history and app settings can be included in Google's Auto Backup for Apps and restored to a new device signed into the same Google account, subject to Google's own backup storage and encryption practices. Onyx does not separately upload this data to our own servers.

CSV export

If you export your history as a CSV file, Onyx hands that file to the Android share sheet so you choose which app receives it (email, files, messaging, etc.). Onyx does not transmit the exported file anywhere on your behalf.

What we don't collect

• We do not use advertising identifiers and do not show ads.
• We do not embed analytics SDKs or third-party trackers.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
• We do not know who you are — there is no account to link your data to.

Third-party services we use

• RevenueCat — manages the one-time purchase entitlement. Receives an anonymous identifier and entitlement status only.
• Google Play Billing — processes the purchase itself. Google, not Onyx, handles your payment method.

Deleting your data

Because there is no account and no server-side copy, you control deletion directly: clear Onyx's app storage or uninstall the app from Android Settings to permanently remove your local count history. There is nothing on our servers to delete.

Children

Onyx is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Continued use of Onyx after an update means you accept the revised version.
